A soft entry with a round juicy mid-palate supports this smooth, easy drinking, complex wine. 2018 was a vintage that gave us a more generous palate and was lighter on tannins. This red blend is a modern take on table wine that delivers packs of flavor in a smooth, food-friendly style.
The Terra d’Oro 2018 Donna Avida Red Blend hails from Amador County, the heart of the Sierra Foothills. “Donna Avida” translates to “Gold Digger” in Italian, a nod to our rich heritage in California’s historic Gold Country. Winemaker, Emily Haines sought out the best lots that would provide a layered and complex expression of this wine-growing region. The result is a stunning blend of Syrah, Barbera, Tempranillo, Viognier and Graciano.

The grapes for this wine are handpicked in small bins and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After gentle pressing, the wine is aged in 10% new American oak barrels for 8 months, which imparts toasty characteristics in this wine.
